A Place Where All Children Thrive
This is a neighborhood preschool and child care for children aged 3-5. We take time to smell the roses, examine the beetles, cover layers of paint on layers of paint at the easel, and we make each other birthday gifts out of broken toy parts we save for special occasions. We believe we are better off when we include different qualities, interests and points of view in our community of adults and children. Some of us may sit in chairs at circle time, others may lie on our stomachs, propping up our faces and still others may really like sitting criss-cross apple sauce. Some of us listen more than we talk, others use assisted devices to shout new words and some burst out with paragraph explanations of a favorite book. Our doors are wide enough for wheel chairs. Our playscape is designed with places for groups and places for quiet. We move through a daily schedule in order but time is not set by the clock. We let children finish the task. We have save signs for block structures built with care so they can be used again tomorrow.
If you, like us, believe that play and open-ended activities are what every three to five year old deserves, then we have a home away from home for your child. We teach basic concepts through a project based approach that enables each child in the group to contribute at her own just-right level. We give children options, let their interests guide the learning and value their creative ideas and contributions by providing stimulating invitations to play and explore in our classroom centers and outdoor playscapes.
Supportive
We are caregivers dedicated to building relationships and finding joy in our daily experiences with young children. We value your family and provide daily contact about what happens at school each day through an app called Brightwheel. You are your child's most important guide and teacher and we are always on the look-out for ways to connect with you.
Community
We are a team of adults who listen to both the voices of children and the families who love those children. To us, community means everyone belongs here. We create a world for small children where everyone has a voice at the table. Everyone is equally valued at our child care home. Adults listen to children's ideas and encourage problem solving. We are an early care and learning facility with a mission of including all children in our program.
Learning
We are educators who use a project based approach to learning and a research based curriculum to guide us in our discoveries and explorations with children. Children's interests and relationships with each other, are at the center of learning. We ask the children lots of questions about their games and play and wants, needs and dreams so we can help them share insights, ideas and approaches to understanding our world.
Enrollment and Tuition
Our rates are $260 per week. We accept CCDF vouchers.
